A contemporary artist, Dheeraj Yadav (b.1989) presents his abstract and artistic expressions as mythological and religious icons, symbols and imagery. He explores space through lines and uses references from Hindu mythology to translate his visual language onto canvas, paper and books. Through his works, Yadav aims for a sense of freedom and derives inspiration from people surviving in a materialistic world. He uses alternative mediums, sometimes feminine forms, and inspiration from the miniature styles.

Dheeraj studied for a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, in 2012 and then studied for a Master of Fine Arts in 2014 from the former university. He participated in the Artist in Residency Programme President House (Rashtrapati Bhawan) (2017).
