Satyaranjan Das (b.1993) uses a variety of mediums to convey his vision, but watercolour remains his primary choice. He uses mixed media, acrylics, graphite, and even maps as his mouthpiece. His emphasis is primarily on ecological conditions and the ordinary person's situation. Das's subjects seem to always be on the move, and he depicts this vague and unfamiliar feeling of migration and displacement quite effortlessly. Nonetheless, the tone of his visual language is of perseverance and constancy of his subject's conditions in the face of adversities. Das uses the urban setting and contrasts it with the section of the population whose life is always on the move due to socio-economic factors. He continues to derive inspiration from his hometown in Odisha.
Das studied from B.K. College of Art, Orissa (2014) and finished his MFA from the College of Art, University of Delhi (2020).
